3 lies men tell, that you want to avoid

Beautiful

This week I've been focusing on things that make a BIG difference. Not necessarily universally - but in my life and in the lives of the women I get the privilege to touch.

And you know what? I keep coming back to this theme of  embodying deep honesty.

Here's what I mean...

Most women who experience recurring pain in their love lives often ignore incredibly avoidable pitfalls, not because they want to experience the "fun" thrill of emotionally falling off a cliff, but because waking up to the truth feels very uncomfortable and a lot less exciting than just playing along.

Love is a human need

We often have such a deep need of being loved that we compromise our values, rules and even our identities in order to try to get it. If you've ever settled for someone who was significantly less committed to you - than you were to him, you probably understand what I'm talking about.

So today I chose to record a video for you that shares three common lies men tell that women (out of their innate need to feel loved and accepted) buy into, without realizing they will lead to deep pain.
My video today translates what three common lies that men say, actually mean and why you might want to stay as far away from them as possible.

Before signing off for the week I also wanted to share that my new friend and colleague Farnoosh Torabi (who is a personal finance expert and a Today Show contributor) has a new book coming out that tackles a pretty controversial subject: female breadwinners

Did you know that when women earn more money in their relationships, they face a much higher risk for burnout, infidelity, and divorce?

Sounds pretty bad, right?

The cool thing is that Farnoosh doesn't just give out the statistics. She's done a ton of research and conducted over 1,000 interviews in order to find out how we can avoid those kinds of challenges in our own relationships.

Her book, When She Makes More: 10 Rules for Breadwinning Women, is a guidebook for any woman who wants happiness not just in her career and financial life, but in her relationship, too.

I'm actually a member of Farnoosh's Launch Team, which means I'm helping to spread the word about this book because I believe its message is an important one. Needless to say, I'm not making any commissions from the sales of this book, I just feel that more women need to hear what she has to say.

So I wanted to let you know about a special pre-order deal Farnoosh has.

The book hits shelves May 1, but if you pre-order your copy now, you'll get some sweet freebies, and Farnoosh will also enter you to win some prizes including a backstage pass to the TODAY show.

You can find out how to get your copy (and the extras) here.

Seniding you tons of love and light,

-Bern
